Columbia Seeds® and Sharp Brothers Seed help fed the maintenance crew for the US Women's Open held at The Broadmoor in beautiful Colorado Springs, CO. The cooks were Steve LeValley, Michael Hays and Dustin Terrell from Sharp Brothers Seed along with Ryan Jeffries from Columbia Seeds®. We served around 90 people who were there to help Fred Dickman (Director of Golf Maintenance) during the tournament. We grilled around 70 pounds of meat; pork tenderloin, leg of lamb, beef tenderloin and chicken. It was an honor to help out!

It was a nice January day in Colorado's Rocky Mountain National Park for a snow shoeing trip. The trip started at Bear Lake which is around 9,475' elevation. We hiked over 3 lakes that day; Nymph Lake (9,720'), Dream Lake (9,900') and Emerald Lake (10,075'). We hiked about 3.5 miles that day and had great views, including ones of Longs Peak (14,255'). The pictures were taken by Rich Baker.

On June 5th Ryan was a participant in the TUFF S.O.B. Golf Tournament which is put on by some of the dedicated employees (Dustin Terrell, Michael Hays & Troy Gray along with the help of friend Paul Mathern) at Sharp Brothers Seed located in Greeley, CO. The inaugural TUFF S.O.B. Golf Tournament was held in August 1998 in an effort to grow and expand current friendships as well as to share friendships with new people. In April of 2001, Chayston Stevens (a player in past tournaments and a good friend to all) passed away suddenly leaving a wife and a 2 year old son, Hunter. In keeping with the overall spirit of the tournament, the decision was made to make the TUFF S.O.B. Golf Tournament a memorial tournament with the extra proceeds benefiting the Hunter Stevens Scholarship Fund.
Doug Nahrgang, a great supporter and player of the tournament passed away in 2008. As a tribute to Doug's friendship and great love for the game of golf his name was added to the TUFF S.O.B. Golf Tournament. Doug was a co-worker with Dustin, Michael, Troy & Ryan.
This year's tournament was held at Coyote Creek Golf Course in Ft. Lupton, CO. A good time was had by all of the players and we look forward to playing next year!
